Finding Your IP AddressFirst, you will want to find your site's IP address. It's located in your Greenhouse Dashboard under Site Settings then Search Engine Settings. It's listed on the right side. Copy this number and save it for the next steps.
Changing Your A RecordIf you have a domain with any other company, here are the general steps you should follow. Unfortunately most companies' control panels are a bit cryptic, so feel free to call us.
Step 1 - Log into your domain provider.
Step 2 - Get to the place where you can manage your domain settings or DNS records.
Step 3 - Change your "A Record" to your site's IP Address. That's it! Your site should be live within a couple hours, however it can take up to 24 hours for everything to start showing up properly.
Keep in Mind
- *Note: Your "A Record" is not the same as your "NS (Name Server) records". If you only have the option of changing your NS records, you'll probably have to call your domain company and tell them to change your A record over the phone.
- Also, make sure you DO NOT change any MX records. These are the rules applied for your email. If they get messed with, you might run into a little trouble with your mail.
