Adding and Removing Documents

There are two ways to add a document to your website. You can create a link to your document from a text area or from a photo area.

Linking from Text

Step 1 - Select a piece of text and click the Add A Document button

Step 2 - Choose a new or previously added document

Step 3 - Click the Finished button to save your changes

Linking from a Picture

Step 1 - Select a picture and click the Link This Picture button

Step 2 - Similar to Linking from Text, click the Add a Document button and choose a document

Step 3 - Click the Finished button to save your changes

Keep in mind:

  • If you plan on adding a document to a password protected page, you'll want to add the password first. Once you protect the page, then you'll want to add the document. This way the document will not be found by search engines like Google. If you add the document first and then password protect the page, Google will still be able to view your document when it crawls your site.

Removing a Document

When you remove the link to a document added to your website, there is no longer a link to it from your website, but it can still appear in search results within Google or other search engines. We'll walk you through how to remove your document entirely from your website.

Step 1 - Just like you'd add a new document, select some text and click the Add a Document button

Step 2 - Click the Choose a Previously Added Document button

Step 3 - Click the X button to delete a document

Step 4 - Click the Cancel Changes button so a new file won't be added to your site

Keep in mind:

  • It generally can take around 30 days for Google to 'crawl' your site and update their search results. Until then, someone may still be able to find a reference to this document on Google, but if they try to open it, they'll see an error that says 'Page Not Found!'.
